Custom Closets by Rubbermaid…It Was Only A Matter Of Time

March 25, 2012 by Laing Leave a Comment

It was only a matter of time before the organization giant Rubbermaid joined the likes of California Closets, and the Container Store: Elfa Systems to offer custom closets. Little did I know that Rubbermaid had been in the closet business for over 45 years. I had the opportunity to attend the Grand Opening of the Custom Closets by Rubbermaid showroom in Morrisville, NC. There they displayed beautiful solutions for every room in the house.

The difference between Rubbermaid and other companies is that Rubbermaid offers every detail within the organizational process. From your larger storage essentials to the smallest details like a necklace holder. I need to have a system that is not only pretty but lived in. I don’t want my closet to resemble an art gallery, I need to feel like I can touch something with out disrupting the aesthetics of the room. Rubbermaid delivers this with their wide range of solutions and accessories.

As a self proclaimed organizing enthusiast and former owner of an Elfa System I feel that I am qualified to give my opinion on Custom Closets by Rubbermaid. Custom Closets by Rubbermaid offers a classic and timeless style. They come in five finishes and Rubbermaid caters to any room in the home, not just walk in and reach in closets. There’s a system designed for everyone. Custom Closets by Rubbermaid provides a specialist who comes into your home and sits with you to discuss what your specific organizational needs are (as well as wants). They take into consideration your personal effects and how they can be best utilized and displayed efficiently in the space. So my accolades go far beyond quality and style but the to client service that is delivered which makes all the difference.

In addition to the Grand Opening of Custom Closets by Rubbermaid a great cause was also present. Rubbermaid showed that they value corporate responsibility, the event duly raised awareness and donations for Dress for Success; an international non-profit organization that provides professional attire and employment/life skills to promote self sufficient living for underprivileged women. The turn out was great and a large amount of donations were received.

NewellRubbermaid’s history of quality products and services make their vision one very true statement,

“to be a global company of Brands That Matter TM”

Special thanks to @carolinamama for inviting me to participate in such a great event and a great cause!

You Don’t Need Fashion Week To Have The Latestest Trends

March 18, 2012 by Laing 1 Comment

Two of the top ten trends at Fashion Week noted by ELLE Magazine were Digital Printing and Abstract Art. These are continuous themes in one of my favorite lines Desigual. In fact Desigual has been using off the main stream designs since their infancy. They say everything comes back into style every 20 years, well Desigual has been designing since 1984 with the motto “Desigual is not the same”. True to their motto you can find bold bright patterns mixed with fun prints, you will never look the same. While everyone is wearing invariable items you will exude style and attitude!

I was introduced to Desigual when I attended a Housewives of the Triangle Party hosted by Jessica Lamarre owner of Flaunt Boutique in Apex, NC. Flaunt is my little slice of Larchmont NY, Greenwich CT, & SoHo NYC all wrapped up. They have something for every woman and every price point. Jessica holds a themed get together bi-monthly as a community girls night out. She has vendors come in to promote themselves by doing hair and make up, ladies play dress up in front of her two huge wall mirrors, while champagne and wine are served.  It makes for a great evening of self confidence, networking, and shopping!

I just happened to be going out that night and decided to purchase an outfit. So the shirt (which I wore as a dress) is called the Sheyla from the Galactic Collection ($69) and the shoes are called Geranio ($154).

No one even remotely looked like me, my outfit was fiaaaaa! If I had it my way my entire wardrobe would consist of Desigual! Wishful thinking…Check them out, I guarantee your style will never be the same.
